- Focus on documentaries and primary source materials
- Look for television footage as well as still images
- Use films that show the AA experience
- Don’t always go for Hollywood Blockbusters (i.e. The Help or The Butler)
- Discuss the inaccuracies of popular films and how they impact culture
- Read about the events in the film prior to viewing
- Think about showing important clips instead of the entire film
